African Trilogy writer dies

Nigerian writer and lecturer Chinua Achebe has died in Boston, USA, at the age of 82. He is best known for Things Fall Apart, the first novel in The African Trilogy, which deals with British colonialism from an African point of view. Known as ‘the father of modern African literature’, Achebe took up permanent residence in the USA in 1990, where he worked as a professor at Brown University until his death in March.
