Global: the international briefing is a new, editorially independent magazine commissioned by the Commonwealth Secretariat, and launched at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Trinidad and Tobago in 2009.
Balancing the expertise of global leaders, the insights of the world’s foremost writers and thinkers and the real life experiences of ‘ordinary’ citizens, Global aims to be a non-partisan guide through the highly contested and often complex discourse generated by the intensifying process of globalisation in the 21st century.
Global seeks to be inclusive, representing the full spectrum of views of the global community on issues of common concern at the international, national and local levels – especially those relating to effective international cooperation, meaningful democratic practice, good governance, justice, freedom of expression, sustainable and equitable development and free and fair trade.
